Some of the leaves on my oak trees have almost completely turned their fall colors, and some of them are about halfway there. I know many folks in northern latitudes have bare trees now and autumn is long-gone, but here at 35° North latitude, the phenomenon of autumn color comes a little later in the year.
I was rather shocked today to see a lone branch of deadwood in one of the trees that looks almost like a snake! See it there in the photo, below? Freaky! It is rising up, ready to provide a little more 'nip' to the air. 😱
I mentioned yesterday that I didn't have any turkey this year because I had not been to the store recently. So, this was my Thanksgiving dinner this year: chicken strips, whole berry cranberry sauce, and the ubiquitous Green Bean Casserole that is very common this time of year in my area.
NOTE how the golden color of the chicken and the beautiful color of the cranberry sauce is similar to the colors of the leaves on the trees this time of year! 😁
I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving had a blessed time, and do hope all my readers have plenty for which to be thankful... 💛
