Strange Things

It's common knowledge that high temperatures and high humidity are responsible for spawning frequent thunderstorms in the summertime. Recent thunderstorms have been particularly fierce lately, and are responsible for many downed trees, fallen branches, and electrical outages. Two of the thunderstorms this summer have registered winds of 60 mph (97 kph) in this area. Such usually only happens once every ten years or so, and only then when the storms have been pushed into the area by a hurricane near the coast. Very strange things are happening with recent storms, however, which I have never seen before, and I am in my sixth decade on this planet.

Typically, these summer thunderstorms begin with rumbles of distant thunder, dark clouds roll into the area with a gray or black appearance, then the lightning comes, and finally the rain. The storm we had yesterday was so atypical, however. Without any thunder and lightning, clouds moved quietly and quickly into the area. But... they were not the usual dark gray clouds of a stormΒ β€” these clouds were thick and of an odd yellowish color, and it was still mid-afternoon, nowhere near the Golden Hour of sunset. The entire landscape was bathed in an eerie yellow glow which defies my ability to describe it. Everything that was painted white took on a distinct bluish hue, including the white doors to the tractor shed and the white car in the driveway. I snapped a photo, but it pales in comparison to what my eye saw, which looked more like a scene from a SciFi movie than anything else.

And then today, in late July when temperatures have been averaging 90⁰F (32.3⁰C), I saw a shocking sight. A tree in the neighbor's yard which is usually very green throughout the summer has some yellow leaves on it as well as some orange ones. This might be explained if we were in a drought, but there has been rain every single day for as long as I can remember, and autumn is at least two months away. So, WTF?!?!?

ADDENDUM:
Since this past hasn't paid-out yet, I though I'd add a photo from today, 25-Jul-2018, to show the tree in the neighbor's yard again, and how it has changed in the past day!
