My brother and his lovely wife recently came for a brief visit of a few days. He had some business in the area and also he wanted to help me with some things around the house. This is the first time they have visited since I began caring for the cats that belong to my late-husband's sister. The older kitty was outside at the time and was initially oblivious to their arrival.
The indoor cat, however, immediately ran and hid for a long time. When she finally felt safe to venture out from under the bed, she quietly slipped down the hallway and peered around the corner of the door frame into the den. Sarah and I turned to look at her and she quickly ducked her head back out-of-sight, briefly, then peered around the corner again. The funny thing was that her body was still partly visible, but (like a child), she must have thought we couldn't see her if she couldn't see us! LOL! It was adorable!
Later, she began to feel more comfortable and came out to see who the strange people were. She was a little miffed that I had to move her litter box because of the work we were doing, but she got over it, the poor dear! It was quite an eventful #caturday 😼
