I mentioned the Ornamental Crabapple tree that is on the property, but there's also another ornamental fruit tree here: an Ornamental Plum! The blossoms are pretty, and bear resemblance to the blossoms of many other fruit trees. These flowers are white when they first open, turn pink as they age a bit, then turn a dark burgundy color prior to withering. When the leaves appear, they are of the same dark color the blossoms had become, a very dark burgundy.

Plums have always been one of my favorite fruits, and I enjoy all varieties (black plums, red plums, Damson plums, etc.) whether fresh or dried into prunes. I usually keep a packet of prunes in my cupboard at all times and enjoy them with oatmeal for breakfast sometimes!
