OLD BARN № 090

This is another barn which I evidently caught just in the nick-of-time before the ravages of age took its toll. The basic structure still appears to be somewhat sound on the eastern side, away from the wind (the end facing us), but the windward side of the building is almost gone. In fact, so much of the barn is in a decrepit state that it's difficult for me to even discern what its purpose might have been during its heyday.

With a large field adjacent to the barn, it is almost certain to have been part of a working farm at some point in its past. For all I know, the fields nearby still may be mowed occasionally for their yield of hay, rather than just being mowed for the sake of appearances.

The aerial view, below, shows the area around the barn. There are several open fields and lots of wooded land nearby, which makes it quite the lovely place for a drive.
