When one owns only a small homestead and a big barn is just too much, a smaller barn can be just right! This charming little shed /barn provides a good amount of storage space, and the attached awning keeps the tractor and other equipment somewhat covered from the elements.

There are easily more miniature barns like this one in the area than large barns, as structures such as this are handy for many homeowners of large property, even if they don't farm or homestead. They are also easier to build, too, not requiring a large team of workers or a whole community to build, as was once the case.
Barn Raisings were once quite common in rural areas. If one farmer needed a barn, often all the menfolk of the community would come together and get the job done for the farmer quickly, and the favor was returned when another neighbor needed a barn repaired or built!
