I can't quite decide if there are some boards missing from the barn, or if it was designed to have some openings for ventilation, to let excess heat out in summer. It could actually be either, I think. And yes, there is a small shed showing the left-side of the photo!
This barn is quite unique because of its asymmetrical nature. The design is rather clever, as it allows for hay-storage on one side of the building, rather than being split between the two sides. That probably makes inventory and distribution of the hay easier.
In looking at an aerial view of the barn, I am amazed at the size of the field in which the barn is located! It is enormous, as can be seen based on the size of the barn in the aerial photo! The large area north of the barn, along SC Hwy 183, is where a Flea Market is held every Wednesday. It is incredibly crowded, so I have never been to it. But I would love to go exploring in that field beside the barn to see what is to be seen!

In case anyone wishes to use this image as wallpaper on their computer, here it is again, with the "CC BY-SA" notice on the image itself, way down at the bottom, and faded-out a bit. The notice should be hidden by the taskbar when in use. Enjoy! 🙂
