OLD BARN № 045 ...with silos!

This farm must have quite a bit of livestock, as there are four silos — two very tall ones, and two shorter ones. The barn behind them is quite large, too! Situated in an enormous field along SC-Highway 183 in Oconee County, the westernmost county in South Carolina, this farm is an impressive sight from the highway.

Oconee County takes its name from the Cherokee word "Ae-quo-nee" meaning "land beside the water." [source]

It is also quite impressive from the air, too! The following aerial shot shows an outline in yellow which is the minimum size of the property, and the section outlined in orange might also be part of the same farm. Of course, the borders might even extend beyond what I have outlined!

The enlargement to the right shows quite a complex of silos, barns, and sheds beyond the landowner's house. Although I am not an expert on farming, I woud guess that this is a working dairy farm.

It would be fascinating to spend some time there, peering into all those barns and sheds! 😁
