This barn was situated on a piece of property alongside US Highway 178 in Pickens County, South Carolina. The most interesting feature to me was the long, sloping roof that covered the entire structure. Three enormous pieces of sheet metal were placed on each side to keep out the wind and rain. It is always fascinating to see how the elements oxidize metal, just as they weather wood and give a vintage look to everything in Mother Nature's path.
As is the case with many barns in this area, this was once a "working" barn on a farm, as evidenced by the rolls of hay out front. There is a largish pasture adjacent where horses or cows could graze (although I never saw any there during the times I passed).
So, yes... nothing is forever, so enjoy what is here, before it is gone.
Don't think about all those things you fear
Just be glad to be here
