This charming barn is quaintly perched on a piece of property atop a small hill in Anderson County, SC. It appears to be a working barn, still used by the landowner. Several cows are always grazing in the adjacent pastures. The same as the last barn and the next few as well, this one was along the route my father and I drove for the month my mother was in the Hospice House.

The following image from Google Maps "Street View" gives an idea of the size of the property that this landowner holds, and not all of it is visible in this shot. Farms in this area have to be large to be productive.

Sadly, this barn is beginning to fall apart, at least on the right-side, as seen in the zoomed-in shot of the Street View, below. I do hope the owner will repair it before it declines beyond a reparable state!

This barn is in a very rural area. For miles around, there are only houses, barns, pastures for grazing animals, fields tilled and planted with crops, small country stores, and only one factory. The countryside in this section of the county is lovely, lush, and green.
In the "satellite view" screenshot from Google Maps, below, the darkest green shows wooded areas, the lighter green are pastures, and fields show in brown & tan colors. The location of Old Barn № 014 is indicated by the red ball. The large white building is a factory, which is probably located in the countryside to avoid city taxes and to be closer to potential employees.

Sometimes, I think it would be nice to have a big chunk of land out in the country, in an area such as this — not for farming purposes, but just for the peace, quiet, and privacy.
