Kitty Patrol

I mentioned in a post not long ago that my sister-in-law is staying with me, temporarily, and brought her two cats along. One of them is content indoors and is almost fearful of the outside world, perhaps because she remembers the hard life of wandering the streets as an abandoned critter when she was young.

The other cat, although also a rescue, is much older and more worldly than his younger housemate. He relishes going outdoors every day to do "his business" in private rather than in the litter box, and he loves to patrol the yard and keep us safe! This is a classic pose, sitting on the patio behind the house and surveying the yard for chipmunks, squirrels, and stay cats that might dare invade His Majesty's domain and threaten our very lives!
