The weather turned a little cooler here when the remnants of Hurricane Michael passed through the area on Friday 12-Oct-2018. However, just a day or two ago, a big blast of cold air came down from the upper reaches of North America and caused temperatures to drop to the mid-30s here (Fahrenheit, of course) overnight. Along with that blast of cold air came some of the most amazing clouds I have seen in a long time!

The view was breathtaking and phenomenal, even more striking in real life than is suggested by these photos.

They reminded me of heavenly ice cream, dripping their sweet goodness... π

Oh, to have a long-handled spoon and reach up there to grab a bite... π

If you look closely in the above photo, a Sun Dog is visible as a small, bright rainbow-patch as sunlight is refracted through ice crystals in the clouds!
The older I get, the more the cold weather bothers me; it eats into my bones. π But, these clouds were so awesome, I can tolerate a little cold weather, and know that autumn will be giving beautiful displays of color before long! In fact, the Dogwood tress (Cornus florida) are usually the first trees to turn in the southeastern US, and they are beginning to show some color now! π
a big hug to @enginewitty for designing the following personal banner for me π€
