Hivefest VI ~ Day 1

Last year, I was thrilled to be able to attend Hivefest V in AltspaceVR. The software was easy to download and setup, and it worked like a breeze. This year, however, it was laggy and temperamental, "hanging" at various points along the way while getting into Hivefest VI. I worked hard for over three hours before I finally was able to navigate to all of the four venues for Hivefest without getting kicked-out again. I am not sure what was going on, as it was immensely frustrating.

Just like last year, the 'badge computers' were not working when I arrived. I went to first one, then another, then another, and none would cooperate. 😒 So, I began milling-about the crowd for a while, returning every so often to try obtaining my badge. The check-in computers finally started working again! I didn't feel like I could really 'relax' and kick-back until I had secured my badge! I felt rather 'naked' without it! 😆

I saw many cool Hiveans that I knew. In no particular order, I saw SilverSaver888, Arcange, Soyrosa, Gandalf, Detlev, Roelandp, Penderis, Blueeyes8960, Sgt-dan, HiveTrending, WilMetcalf, Ewkaw, InfinityTCG, and several others I knew from various communities on-chain and in Discord. Penderis told me I walked right past ShadowsPub at one point, but I must have missed her in my fervor to get my badge. I also saw many people I know by name, but never interacted with, such as PixiePost, TheLogicalDude, and many others. And, just like in real life, guys I didn't know sent me "Friend Requests" immediately, often without even attempting to say, "Hello" 😜

The NFT SHOWROOM art gallery was a work-of-art unto itself! It was built almost entirely of glass, with just enough strips of steel to hold it all together. It was shaped a bit like a figure-8 with two tall, round-top dome structures similar to the shape of kilns, connected in the middle. It was a very avant-guard design and quite striking! I'd like to give big "Kudos!" to whomever designed it! Perhaps @juliakponsford could enlighten us!

I do hope getting into DAY 2 of Hivefest will be easier tomorrow. It should be, now that the "environments" have been successfully downloaded into my computer. I wonder if maybe the venues could open earlier next year, to benefit those of us with slow Internet. I'm looking forward to seeing people tomorrow that I didn't see today! HIVEFEST AHOY! ☠️
