Happy Birthday, Hive!

On 20-Mar-2020, the Hive blockchain forked from our legacy chain and became a separate entity! This was a glorious day for many of us, and it was fantastic to watch it happen in such a cohesive manner! Sure, there was a small rock or two in the road that tried to stop our wagons, but we had some strong horses that pulled us forward despite the minor issues that arose. Witness nodes were reconfigured quickly and essential tools were made available in short order. It was a wonderfully orchestrated event!

After things settled into place, nothing looked much different on the surface except our shiny-new logo, but there were some changes underneath, the most notable of which was the absence of very large ninja-mined stake held by one entity on-chain. With renewed vigor, developers went into an overdrive mode and in the past year there has been a flurry of new games, tools, tokens, mobile-apps, and Tribes with their own front-ends/interfaces.

Many of the projects on the Hive blockchain are listed at the following link. Sadly, though, some of the developers have failed to list their tools, apps, and services there. Hopefully, they will read this and do it so that our list will be more complete!

I have started my own list which is a pared-down version that might be more of use to end-users rather than developers: HIVE BLOCKCHAIN TOOLS AND SERVICES. It is my plan at this time to update the list periodically.

I'm also compiling a list of Front-Ends/Interfaces to the Hive Blockchain. Every time I think the list is complete, someone reminds me of another one that isn't there, but hopefully it will be complete soon!

Also, in just four days on 24-MAR-2021, the legacy chain from which Hive sprang marks a Fifth Anniversary, and we share that anniversary to some extent as well. With all the accounts, posts, witnesses, and developed tools & apps that came over with the launch of Hive, I don't think it is entirely remiss to claim Hive's Fifth Anniversary this year, too.
