Crypto Madness

I really appreciate when people say what they mean. Here on the Steem blockchain, for instance, we have a cryptocurrency called Steem. On Whaleshares, they have WLS. The Ankr Network has ANKR, Bitcoin has BTC, and Litecoin has LTC. It's fabulous! Yay!

But, what possessed Stellar to have a token called XLM, Cardano to call their token ADA, Winding Tree to call theirs LIF, or Esportbit to call theirs HLT? I've heard so many people talking about Cardano, but I would never have thought to search the ticker symbol "ADA" if I wanted to get in on itΒ β€” I would have looked for "CAR" or "CARD" or something similar. So, why can't these token-namers be more logical like Steem, Whaleshares, Ankr, and name their tokens something that makes sense...?!?!?

And, given how many people have lost money to crooked schemes, why would anyone ever want to invest in a token called "PonziCoin" (PONZI)...?!?!? Where do they get these names?

Check out more of the madness in the naming of tokens on CoinMarketCap, and if anyone can explain the rationale behind the cryptic token names, I'd love to hear them.
