We had a rather sudden cool-down recently. Night-time temperatures had been in the 50s (degrees Fahrenheit) and then one night suddenly dropped into the upper-30s when a "cold front" came through the area. That particular night, breezy conditions gave us Wind Chill ("feels like") temperatures in the upper-20s.
This photo shows what happens to the fig tree, and some others, when that happens. Instead of slowly turning from green to yellow, black spots appear on the edges of the leaves. If the weather stays cold, the black areas will spread until the leaf is dark and falls to the ground. If the weather warms again, then the green places will turn yellow while the black remains.
This is another entry in the ColorChallenge which @kalemandra began. It's been such fun participating in it each day since I've been here!
