One of the most scenic areas in the upstate region of South Carolina is Eastatoe Valley (pronounced: east - ah - TOE' - ee), tucked away in a relatively remote area of Pickens County. Aside from one very small church, the valley is nothing but wooded land, farms, grazing cattle, and mountains on three sides. One farm raises miniature horses, and I have heard there is a waterfall up one of the few dirt roads off the main highway (although I have not ventured up that road). A small river winds through the area, fed by small creeks that flow down from the sides of the mountains. It is so picturesque!
