One of the most magnificent bursts of color in our yard each autumn is the Burning Bush (Euonymus alatus) shrub. All through spring and summer, the leaves are a lovely, deep green. But after autumn gets well underway, the green changes to a brilliant, firey red.
While looking online to get the scientific name of this plant, I learned that it is native to Asia, and is counted as an "invasive species" in North America. The leaves and berries are also poisonous to livestock, pets, and children, so consideration should be given before getting this plant started on one's property!
This is another entry in the ColorChallenge which @kalemandra began. It's been such fun participating in it each day since I've been here!
