Back with @doana on #caturday

The kitties LittleBit and Gorgeous have been under my care for so long and featured in my #caturday posts enough that some of my readers may have forgotten that they are not my cats, but are actually my sister-in-law's felines. I make so many photos on a regular basis that there is always a 'backlog' of shots to process and post!

So, it may surprise some of you to learn that...

A little over four months ago, my sister-in-law moved into a new place that was conducive to her taking one of the cats back into her care. So, LittleBit, the smallish 'Tiger Cat' returned to live with @doana again. This was possible simply because LittleBit is an indoor cat, is very quiet, and is [usually] well-behaved. So, it wasn't very difficult to convince the landlord that LittleBit would be a good tenant, too! All the photos of her I've been posting recently are backlog shots from the time she was living here.

The above is a pic of her in her new home. The human who is photo-bombing the kitty is my sister-in-law, giving reassuring pats and strokes.

We made the transition as smoothly as possible for the little one. I purchased a new litter pan to take to @doana so I could keep the one that's here. Gorgeous, the outdoor cat doesn't like to use it and prefers to do his 'business' outdoors, but I needed to keep it here, just in case he needed to use it on a cold or rainy day. So, LittleBit wasn't upset at the disappearance of her litter pan, which kept her calm. In the past, the disappearance of the litter pan set her into a panic, knowing that something was about to happen, the poor thing!

I also bought lots of food, spare litter, cat treats, a laser pointer, and other things to make the transition as simple as possible for both LittleBit and @doana. I also brought the water dish LittleBit had been using so there would be something familiar for her at the new place. Quite a bit of thought and planning went into everything!

Once all the stuff was safely loaded into the car, I came back in for her. My first attempt at cradling her in my arms in the safety of a blanket failed, and sent her dashing under the kitchen table to hide. So, I shook the box of cat treats gently, and dropped a few in her dish. That was enough to bring her out of hiding! I stood there quietly while she enjoyed the treats and then scooped her into my arms again! This time, she settled down. So I grabbed my purse with my free hand, put the strap over my shoulder, and headed for the car.

LittleBit was a good girl during the trip, thankfully! She explored the back seat of the car only briefly before crawling into the front with me. She settled-down in the floorboard on the passenger's side and curled into a little ball next to the transmission hump. I think she was lulled to sleep by the hum of the engine and the tires on the road, reminding me of being the same when I was a child on long trips in the car.

LittleBit had loads of fun exploring her new home. @doana reports that in the past four months, the kitty has been experimenting with sleeping in every possible location to see which she likes best! She has a fabulous porch with screens over the windows where she can perch and watch the many things happening outdoors and enjoy plenty of sunbeams. 😊 And my sister-in-law is happy to have one of her little fur-balls with her again!

@doana's other cat (Gorgeous/Midnight) is still here, under my care. He likes spending most of his time outdoors and I will still share some photos of him for #caturday in the coming weeks!
