I know someone here on the blockchain who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and frequently has issues with cramps/spasms in muscles, migraines, numbness in legs, and a host of other problems.
I know someone who has Lupus and Fibromyalgia which are debilitating at times, especially in combination with each other.
I know someone who has anxiety to such a large degree that it is difficult for her to leave her house, even to get to a therapy appointment or buy groceries.
I know someone who recently moved to a new city and an apartment that was in a state of disrepair, and is dealing with issues that the landlord should have fixed ahead-of-time.
I know someone who recently lost their living quarters and was homeless and sleeping in their car for a time before finding a new place to live.
I know someone who has cancer (Multiple Myeloma and a recently-discovered tumor in a breast), COPD, cellulitis, and is in renal failure with frequent dialysis required each week.
I know someone who has taken the above person into her home and served as caregiver β even though the person with cancer was just a casual friend, not a very close friend β and has had a difficult time in recent years while caregiving.
I know people who have lost much of their life's savings to scammers and criminals.
I know people (myself included) who have lost spouses and other loved-ones to cancer and other diseases.
We have all been "through the fire" in some way or other. And, if you have not, then your time is coming, eventually. Life does not seem to favor any of us in this regard, and we never know what others are currently going through, or have gone through in the past. Everyone needs more kindness, both online as well as in real-life.
Being kind to others is something that should take little effort, and should take little thought, too. It might make someone else's day and very well might make us feel better, too, by the knowing we have spread some joy to someone else. It is said that it takes fewer muscles and less energy to smile than to frown. And even if that is not really true, would it not be worth the trouble if we could mitigate someone else's fire for a few moments...? Spread kindness... spread compassion... spread love.
Be kind to one another.
We have all been through the fire
in some way or other.
